We’re excited to introduce the newest member of the Address Properties community: Jazz, our newest Ambassador!
Our Address Properties Ambassadors are tenants who work with us to create content, attend events, and share their genuine experiences of renting with Address Properties. The aim is to give future tenants a real insight into what it’s like to find a home, live in Liverpool, and be part of our community.
To get to know Jazz a little better, we asked her about choosing Liverpool, finding her Address Properties home, and her advice for anyone thinking about moving to the city.
Meet Jazz
Jazz is currently studying Graduate Entry Medicine at the University of Liverpool, having made Liverpool her home after choosing to study in the city.
Why Did You Choose to Study and Live in Liverpool?
For Jazz, one of Liverpool’s biggest attractions was its nightlife.
The city has something for every kind of night out, from the busy and chaotic atmosphere of Concert Square to the Beatles-inspired bars and venues of Matthew Street. There are rooftop bars, food and event spaces like Baltic Market, live music and events at venues such as Camp and Furnace and Invisible Wind Factory, as well as student nights taking place in clubs across the city throughout the week.
But it wasn’t just the social scene that brought Jazz to Liverpool. The University of Liverpool was also a major attraction, particularly its well-known medicine course.
Founded in 1881, the University of Liverpool was the first red brick university and has been an important part of the city for well over a century. Today, it sits alongside several other universities, including Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool Hope University, LIPA and LMA.
With such a large student population, Liverpool has a unique energy. Whether you’re a student or a young professional, there are always people around looking to meet new friends, discover new places and make the most of city life.
Why Did You Choose to Live in an Address Properties Home?
Jazz’s route to her Address Properties home was a little different.
When she started looking for somewhere to live, one of her friends was already renting with Address Properties. They had already rented an Address Properties home for the upcoming academic year but needed to find one more housemate.So, they asked Jazz to join their group and move into the property with them this summer.
After viewing the property, Jazz decided to join the household and found her new home through a recommendation from someone she already knew. It’s a great example of how renting doesn’t always have to mean finding an entire group from scratch.

What Is Your Favourite Thing About Your Address Properties Home?
For Jazz, it’s all about location. Living in the Kensington area means she’s within walking distance of both the University of Liverpool and Liverpool city centre, making it easy to get to lectures, meet friends and enjoy everything the city has to offer.
But she also gets the benefits of living outside the city centre itself. Kensington offers a more residential atmosphere and can be considerably more affordable than living right in the heart of Liverpool.
And for a medical student with early starts, there’s one particularly important benefit: the short walk to campus means Jazz doesn’t have to set her alarm quite so early. Being able to have a lie-in and still make it to a morning lecture on time is a pretty good perk!
What Advice Would You Give Someone Moving to Liverpool?
Jazz’s biggest piece of advice is to get involved. Whether it’s joining a university society or finding a local club that matches your interests, getting involved can be one of the best ways to build a social life when you move somewhere new.
For Jazz, her society has become like another family, creating friendships and connections that have made Liverpool feel like home.
And there’s certainly no shortage of options. Universities across Liverpool offer a huge range of societies that meet regularly for social events, study sessions, activities and nights out. Outside university, there are even more opportunities to meet people, from running clubs and Sunday league sports teams to book clubs, hobby groups and community events.
Liverpool is known for being a welcoming city, and its close-knit community makes it easy to find your people. You might arrive not knowing anyone, but it probably won’t stay that way for long.
When Did You Start Looking for Your House?
Jazz enrolled on her course in the Spring and knew that her Graduate Entry Medicine course started earlier than many other university courses. Because of this, she started looking for her home straight away and needed to find a tenancy that could accommodate her earlier start date.
We’d definitely agree with Jazz on this one, that the earlier you start looking, the easier it is to find what you’re looking for.
The majority of our full properties are reserved between October and February, so we recommend starting your search early and having a clear idea of what you need.
Before you start viewing, think about:

- Your budget
- Your preferred location
- Your preferred move-in date
- Your property non-negotiables
Having these decided early can make the search much easier and help you quickly identify the properties that are right for you.
